Are kids aware of road hazards? How do they adapt to traffic? How do they behave when confronted to a car? Are highway codes understood by them? The crosswalk installed at Technopolis (Mechelen) aims at developing road safety for our children. Adults interactively learn about difficulties faced by children in traffic. The system offers interaction between pedestrians (the visitors) and virtual cars which take into account the movements of these pedestrians.

This simulation of a crosswalk is based on the Kiosk™ technology: the system analyzes the behavior of the visitors and adapts the videos accordingly. If an accident occurs, the system elaborates on its causes.
