Unrivaled high scores for Basilisk interactive dark ride with FIVE industry awards at EAS
Awarded Family Ride of the Year, Best New Ride and Best Use of Technology for ETF Trackless Vehicles

Wavre, Belgium, 3 October 2018 – Alterface is pleased to announce no less than five awards have been received for the Basilisk interactive dark ride. The popular family ride opened last Spring at the Legendia regional theme park in Poland. The attraction was managed by Alterface in close cooperation with its partners ETF Ride Systems and Jora Vision.

Prior to EAS, Basilisk received already two Parkscout Awards, one for Europe’s and Germany’s Best New Rides 2018. Furthermore, there were two awards for Maus-au-Chocolat in Phantasialand as Europe’s and Germany’s Best Dark Rides. It has become an Alterface evergreen in dark rides and remains a popular attraction in the park.

The evening before EAS, Gemi Verlag organized its annual European Star Awards ceremony at the rooftop of Heineken Experience World in Amsterdam. Basilisk was awarded Best New Ride for 2018. An extensive professional jury has been selecting and judging the many projects submitted.

During the first European Park World Excellence Awards at the prestigious W Hotel in Amsterdam centre, Basilisk was nominated in four categories. The Alterface/ETF/Jora Vision dreamteam left almost nothing to competition and proudly accepted two awards: the first prize in the category Family Ride of the Year and Best Use of Technology for the trackless vehicles by ETF Ride Systems.

All awards were proudly displayed on the Alterface and all partner stands at EAS and have safely been taken back to the respective offices to share with the supporting teams.

 The story of the Bazyliszek attraction is based on authentic Polish folklore. Guests get a specific task in the queue and pre-show and finally board a trackless Munster Hunter vehicle to make an exciting journey through the magical forests of Poland. Trees and plants come to life and take all kind of forms and shapes, aligning the scenery with the story and enhancing the ride experience for the entire family.

Alterface has overseen the total ride experience as main contractor for the attraction, applying their latest interactive technology including video mapping, gameplay, show control and shooting devices. Jora Vision has been devising the décor and theming, and previously developed the new master plan for the park. ETF crafted the trackless Multi mover vehicles, completely tailored to fit the Basilisk theme.
